anishinaabek discovery centre

The Anishinaabek Discovery Centre is a  combined educational, research and cultural centre housed in a brand new facility on the waterfront in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario and home to Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig. The ADC features a state of the art library, archives and gallery designed to house Indigenous-created information and Indiginous-related research. The centre also houses classrooms, meeting spaces and offices as well as a modern teaching auditorium. This facility required furniture and equipment planning, design and procurement to suit their new space as well as finish selctions to coordinate with the calm, natural  and neutral interior. The furniture and fixtures were selected for the clean lines and functional characteristics and form an essential part of the building aesthetic and use. Our team was able to provide multiple seating options to allow for many different classroom configurations to suit the client's need for diverse teaching environments. Flexibility in the furniture selections also allows for multiple learning and meeting environments within the facility which was of huge importance to the client to suit their ever changing needs and the needs of the users. The Ergo team also worked closely with the client for the move management portion of the project in order to ensure a smooth transition into their new home.
